Lost in Legislation
What is it?
What is the prerequisite for racism?
A feeling that encases some and not others
They say in America that we’re all brothers
Yet we cover up our underlying feelings
These thoughts have been reeling for a time
What kind of prejudice is ok and what others is a crime?
See it’s a thin line between tolerance and prejudice
As well a difference between acceptance and moral justice.
But you know I just can’t have it
You don’t have to come out and say the word faggot
Some Christian Conservatives say it’s wrong to be gay
But who wants to take advice from radicals anyway?
These are the same people that love crusades and fuel hate
Crying on Sunday morning about the moral debate.
From the beginning some have said we don’t mind if you like the
same sex
We just don’t want our government sending you any checks
I know, I know, you pay taxes as well
But the sanctity of marriage needs to be upheld
So Britney can get married and enjoy her straight rights
And you don’t see a dime through your non hetero plight.
There are too many rednecks forcing bullshit politics
Masturbating to their sisters spitting privileged union
rhetoric
It’s a racist, prejudice land we are living in today
And I’m surprised so many democrats are joining the
parade
Let our president go on T.V. and try to rewrite the
constitution
Driving the notion of intolerance as the solution
Well hell, so you’re black, you can exist, but ya can’t
vote
As we stand proudly, about the message we wrote.
You think a boy was born and says man I wish I was gay
To be mistreated, frowned upon, and restricted rights in so many
ways
And our government can cover up marriage as a privilege for the
elite
While the ten percent off our community gets thrown on their asses in
the street
Forget about their liberties and give those homos what they
deserve
Because the idea that were born equal, is just plain absurd
Finally I scoff at the community in utter disgust
I guess that whole land of equality thing was just a floundering
bust
And don’t try and tell me you never said don’t be
gay
Because your governmental actions have shown me the way
I bid you adieu you gay hating bastards
I saw your pitchforks already, so this time I’ll run faster.
